Chris Rock (2005). One of the most controversy hosts in Oscar history. All evening Chris Rock tried to meld his comedic style within the context of the show. Previous hosts where Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Martin, and Billy Crystal, and Chris was in hard situation. But Rock handled himself the best that he could, with some minor controversy situation. Some of the jokes seems pretty lame (like about Jude Law), but most of them were wisecracking. Most memorable of them “At least they make movies that white people can enjoy. Movies with plots, with actors, not rappers. With real names, like Saving Private Ryan. Black movies don’t have real names. You get names like Barbershop. That’s not a name, that’s a location!”
