Caribbean is the region famous by its rough history and numerous stories about adventurous discoverers, pirates and amazing treasures. Some of that stories are simple fairy tales, some — real pieces of history. And sometimes tales come true — like in the story of a lost Spanish galleon, San Jose, which was found in 2015.
San Jose went under water in a sea battle in 1708. It was a cargo ship, which transported gold from South America to Spain. The approximate value of its cargo is claimed to be over $1 billion, which makes it the largest underwater treasure ever found. It’s no wonder the exact location of the shipwreck is kept unrevealed.
