It was stolen from the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, while the gallery was open for public viewing on June 10, 2007. The self-portrait is on the list of the FBI’s Top Ten Art Crimes and has an estimated value of more than $1 million.
Caravaggio’s “Nativity with San Lorenzo and San Francesco”
Was stolen in October of 1969 from the Oratory of San Lorenzo in Palermo, Italy. Its value is estimated at $20 million and it is on the list of the FBI’s list of Top Ten Art Crimes.
